Real anticipation for something better, something you truly believe is coming.

Looking forward by first looking backward.
Rooted in a bold Biblical hope that God's past acts gives us hope for the future and that's the greatest hope of all.

The Mission

The Elpis Children's Foundation's mission is to encourage and support Black families in pursuing private adoption in the United States and financially support nonprofit organizations that serve orphaned, needy, and abandoned children in the Republic of Ghana.

The Founders

Alfred Essandoh is founding Board member, President and Treasurer of The Elpis Children’s Foundation. He is the Loan Administrator and Contract Compliance Officer supporting a nationally recognized Community Development Finance Institute and SBA microfinance lender. He has diligently built programs from the ground up, helping to serve communities and populations in need.

Alfred has a Master’s degree in Economic Development and Executive Education in Nonprofit Management and is a founding board member and board Secretary of Adisadel Foundation Inc., an organization supporting the education mission of Adisadel College, his alma mater, a boys’ high school based in Cape Coast, Ghana.

Virginia G. Essandoh, J.D., is founding Board member, Vice President and Secretary of The Elpis Children’s Foundation. She is the Chief Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Officer for a large law firm and has served on the boards of AlphaCare, Smith Memorial Playground and Playhouse, and Sacred Heart Academy, Bryn Mawr. She is wife to Alfred and mother to Sophia.

Sophia Essandoh, a middle school student, serves as The Foundation’s advisor, marketing and communication coordinator, and resident muse.
